I was in 55b group at Chepstow and after my time there and my 9 years in the Royal Engineers I left the REs and moved to Zambia (Northern Rhodesia). This was on the advice of my brother in law who was an accountant living in Lusaka and said there was a shortage of skilled people there. When I arrived the firm saw that I had accounting qualifications and rather than work as a overseas service engineer I was put on the management account side. After a number of years I moved to South Africa as a Investment manager for listed company engineering company and was investigating companies in South Africa, Iran ,Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, to see if they were worth buying. I then moved to Botswana as a Company Secretary on a Diamond mine on contract, and then on contract to a listed company in Papua New Guinea. Then back to South Africa and joined Deloitte and Touche as a manager, then left and formed my accounting and tax company, which I still run today.
One of my good friends at Chepstow Robert Kewley whom I have been unable to trace, He married a Betty Wright who was the daughter of a instructor in the VM shop at Chepstow. Can any one help?
